Weigh Day
It's Sunday, which means one thing for me. Weigh day. Well, that, and Cram-All-My-Homework-for-the-Weekend-into-One-Day Day. But that's not very exciting. ...at all.
So anyway, I'm on a diet because I might have had a bit too many Reese's Peanut Butter Cups growing up, and I slowly progressed to 162 pounds before I finally said enough is enough. So now I'm paying for my blissful gluttony.
I've done pretty well so far, nearly putting a stop to snacks and chocolate (which is really hard for a woman, because I'm shunning the female's sacred food). But every once and a while I'll splurge a little, and satisfy my addiction in guilty pleasure. These sinful indulgences usually happen on the weekends, when I'm feeling pretty secure about how little I've eaten over the week.
Well this weekend I might have gotten a little too confident, so when I went to weigh myself today (as it is Weigh Day), I found I gained 1.1 pounds. Now I know it's not that bad when you're trying to maintain your weight, but I only lose about a pound a week, so it's as if I took a step backward one whole week. Crapmonkeys.
I'm trying to lose as much as I can before ACen so I won't look like a fat white lard as I'm cosplaying Near, so this is a little aggravating. But it's not the first time I've gained weight on this diet, so it only means that I need to work harder this coming week - and absolutely no splurging.
I've been on a diet for 12 weeks now, and I've lost 18 pounds. So I guess its a little more than 1 pound a week but no more than 2. I still have 24 more pounds to go before my goal of 120, and I'm hoping to lose it all before the beginning of my college years. I'm currently at 144.8. Can I do it? O the suspense! I haven't been skinny since before middle school.
Well anyway, I need to fulfill the other role Sunday plays and "celebrate" Cram-All-My-Homework-for-the-Weekend-into-One-Day Day.
Rest in peace, weekend fun, I mourn for thee.

you have GOT to teach me how to lose some weight too!!!! XD I've been trying but it's so HARD!!!! T___T
ReplyDeleteHaha I've found through previous diet attempts that you have to have a really strong resolve. Especially when you're a food addict like me ^.^
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you think you've got a pretty good diet going but you're still not losing weight, then I know it sucks, but exercising helps. I used to go walking with my mom, but I got lazy, although I'm thinking it'd be a good idea to start again.
Everyone's body is different, so test out how much you can eat and still lose weight and then stick to it. That's pretty much what it comes down to.
Heh, wow I write too much.
Ooh Thanks for the advice... =) I need to lose some weight for cosplay...I understand that you're into cosplay as well. HELLO FELLOW COSPLAYER!!!! XD
ReplyDeleteHaha hello! I'm still new at cosplaying but I've become completely obsessed xD
ReplyDeleteSo who do you cosplay?
It's cool, i'm a newbie too!!! XD I normally cosplay characters from mainstream animes like Bleach, D.Gray-Man, Gintama and a few more. What about you? Care to share some pictures? 8D
ReplyDeleteAh I wanted to be Soi Fon from Bleach, but there were so many other characters I also wanted to be that she kinda moved the the bottom of my list.
ReplyDeleteWhich character from Bleach do you cosplay?
I also cosplay a couple of mainstream anime like Naruto and Death Note, but I also have a costume from a newer anime called Dogs.
Sure, I'll probably post pictures when it gets closer to the anime convention I'm going to. Heh, I'm too lazy to put everything on and take pictures. You should share pictures too!
ah... My first cosplay was Ulquiorra Cifer(BAD IDEA)and the costume i bought was ripped off so it looked horrible haha... I also did Ichimaru Gin hueco mundo ver. I'm more interested in doing villains for Bleach. A few of my future projects include Ulquiorra Cifer's Murcielago first release(Right after i figure out how to do the bloody makeup for this character), Coyote Starrk's release Los Lobos and other arrancars as well. =)Oh if i have the skills and materials, i wanna cosplay as Senbonzakura as well.
ReplyDeleteDOGS eh? Which character are you planning to do? Me likey Badou nyah~~ I'll put some up too after my sem break cause i'll be debuting General Cross Marian for a photoshoot with a group of my friends.
Do you have facebook where you post your pics or something?? XD Kinda excited to see your cosplays... 8D
Ah I wanna see your Ulquiorra cosplay! He's always been a favorite character of mine. Oh and Gin! I like his creepy smile. xD
ReplyDeleteAnd Senbonzakura sounds cool too.
Yeah I love Badou and Haine! I can't decide which one I like better. Anyway I'll be Noki and my friend's being Luki so we'll match and it'll be awesome.
Anyway I don't have any pictures of my Noki costume (because I still need to make it, heheh), oh and I also have a blue Link costume from Zelda, but no pictures yet of that either. But if you want to see my Sakura or Near cosplays, I could tell you how to find me on facebook, but I don't really want to put that up for anyone to find and look at.. hmm... is there some way to private message?
haha let's see... urm.. maybe you could email me? XD It's better to email each other than to spam your comment section LOL! 8D It's ok if you don't feel comfortable giving me your email. Just wanna let you know no pressure eh? =)
ReplyDeleteUlquiorra cosplay of mine!? Trust me you do not want to see it cause it'll blind you. PERIOD. =) Heck i cosf*cked the character and i felt awful about it... =(
So you make your own costumes!? THAT IS SO KEWL!!! XD I can't sew even if my life depended on it. I normally make my own props and order my costumes online... epic phail D:
Actually, since no one looks at this page besides you (hehe thank you), I'll just tell you my facebook page and then delete the comment once I get a friend's request from you.
ReplyDeleteWell post some other cosplay pictures if you don't like Ulquiorra! I like your profile picture cosplay! ...but I don't know who it is xC. But it still looks really good!
Yeah I make my own which is why they look so.. hand made, lol. But you get so much more satisfaction knowing you made it and everything. And it's way cheaper than buying them online. Haha I'm broke.
Well, I didn't make my Sakura costume.. my friend did, but after that I got the hang of it a little bit and made my first costume from scratch, which is my Link costume. It turned out okay I guess.
But there's no shame in buying your costumes! Just means you're rich enough to do so! And your costumes will look a whole lot better than any of the crap I make xD.
And it's really cool that you can make your own props! I wish I had the patience for that! But by the time I finally finish the costumes, I'm too tired of making stuff to make a prop.
Anyway if you go through my photo albums you can see my very n00bish adventures at my first anime convention as well as my crap Sakura costume in the albums labeled ACen 1 and 2. And then in my Halloween album, my friends and I had a Halloween L birthday party (because L's birthday is on Oct 31), so you can see my Near costume and my friends' Matt and Misa costumes.
PS: I just went over my album, and my Near costume sucks also. Haha you can tell I didn't spend much on the wig.
ReplyDeleteThanks i've added you in Facebook! XD Hopefully i didn't add the wrong person LMAO. haven't checked out the pictures yet cause i have to wait for your approval.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, there's nothing wrong with costumes that look hand made. I actually admire western cosplayers because they can make their own costumes and props.
I don't know about you guys, but where i'm from most people(although there are exceptions) buy their costumes not because they're rich, it's because they can't make their own, like me. =X We normally just concentrate on the props since we can't do much about the costumes.
Thank you for liking my profile pic and i don't blame ya if you can't recognise who i'm cosplaying as, cause his wig is kinda messed up. I'm actually cosplaying Vergil from Devil May Cry 3. Please forgive me if i killed any of your beloved character. *runs before fans attack with shotguns*
No no you didn't kill any of my favorites! I saw your Gin cosplay and it was really good! (I be facebook stalking ^.^) I'm jealous of the wig because it actually looks like white hair rather than a pile of bird poop.
ReplyDeleteAnd I haven't read Devil May Cry 3 so that'd be the reason xP
So where are you from anyway? If you don't mind me asking..
Haha no you got the right person on facebook!
Lol I was like "huh that's a weird last name.." and then I looked at my own and I was like "oh.." ^.^
Thank you for the kind words =) *bows*. I saw your pics as well and your Near's good considering you did everything yourself. I'd kill to have skills like that! XD A lil more hair spray/gel and the wig would be perfect. XD
ReplyDeleteThe wig for my Gin is not as thick as i want it to be though, but thank you very much for liking it. It has sentimental values because my mom bought me that wig for my birthday 2 years ago and it was my first wig. 8D
Devil May Cry 3 is actually a PS2 game haha so if you own a PS2, you could give it a try and if you own a PS3, get DMC 4(although it wouldn't be as good as DMC 3 XD).
I'm from Malaysia nyah~~ If you have the chance to go for a holiday, do stop by, if you're in to the nature stuff and all. =) It's great to meet fellow cosplayers from half way around the globe! Haha sorry for the weird last name cause that's not my real name LOLOLOL!!!
Well for my Near costume I went to a thrift store and bought a white shirt and pants, so I didn't sew that. xC
ReplyDeleteBut thanks for the wig tips! I'll be sure to have a round two in trying to tame that thing.
Sorry, I don't own a PS3.. I'm more of an XBox person hehe. But I do have a PS2 so if I see the game for cheap enough I might buy it!
Wow Malaysia.. I'm not even certain on where that is haha. But if I ever do happen to go there I'll be sure to stop by! xD
Haha so that would explain why your last name sounds more like a username..
Haha i wouldn't call "using more hair spray" a tip though. 8D I ain't no pro in wig styling so i wouldn't dare to give out advices that are too complicated LOLOL.
ReplyDeleteIt's cool if you don't own a PS3 cause i don't too LMAO. The games for PS3 are just too pricey for me. I used to have a PS2 but my brother sold it away so now i'm stuck with a PSP. =(
It's ok... XD Malaysia's a small developing country FAR FAR away from the States(25 hours plane ride to be exact! XD). And the time now in Malaysia is actually 1.49am, 6th of May. Nyah my last name sounds weird because, like i mentioned in the previous comment, it's not my real last name LOL~ My last name's Wong... Does that at least sound normal to you now? =)
